    The Enchantment Administration

Founded in 1537 by Sangor the Sanguine, His Majesty's Privvy Councille of Sorceriety was an influential body, with authority over all magickal activity within both the New World and Ye Olde one, as well as the Seven Inner Worlds, the Six Middle Worlds, and the Five Golden Ringworlds. Among Sangor's most notable achievements was the organization of the famous Salem Witch Hunt, which resulted in the identification of nearly 200 witches, who were then offered gainful employment in previously witch-deprived rural communities. Alas, Sangor's advanced age at the founding of the Councille forced him to retire after a mere two-and-a-half centuries of service.

Soon after Sangor's retirement, a changing sociopolitical climate (not to mention a powerful spell of transmutation) resulted in the Privvy Councille's transformation into the Government's Enchantment Administration, a form it has kept to this day. In its current incarnation, the Enchantment Administration plays a vital role in the complex and fast-paced world of modern magic. In his current incarnation, Sangor is an eight-year-old girl named Samantha who likes ponies and princesses.

    The Modern EA's Duties

With over 3,000 employees scattered across eight dimensions, the Enchantment Administration keeps sorcery a well-regulated activity. From certifying that your witch doctor knows his phantasmagorical pharmacology to fighting back the armies of darkness, the hard-working men, women, sprites, centaurs, and others of the EA work around the clock to ensure your magical comfort and safety.

Under the leadership of current Registrar of Enchanted Persons, Herbert Dunn, the EA has placed special emphasis on the training of the next generation of spellcasters. Mr. Dunn believes that young people are our future, and, given that he lives backward in time, he ought to know. For this reason, the EA's highest priority is the publication of The Government Manual for New Wizards, widely considered the gold standard amongst thaumaturgical reference works.
